Friday Inspiration: Painting Demo by Bobby Chiu

I am a huge fan of adventure time and Bobby Chiu did this awesome fan piece!

Here is his process which is really inspiring to watch. I love how he almost sculpts the piece to what it is and how he just splashes on color making it all somehow come together. (If you aren't up for a 'life' pep talk just mute it.)

Fri... er, Saturday Inspiration: Painting Demo

I am sorry so many Fridays have gone by without an inspiration post! I am finally almost settled into my place and more importantly got my desk set up today! So inspiration posts are back and I'll do my best to make up for the past few weeks.

This digital panting demo, by Salvador Ramirez Madriz, caught my eye because first: the super cute character, and second: he does a piece like this in one to two hours! This was a nice reminder to me to not get hung up on a piece. Which is very easy to do! I also love how he applies the color almost painterly and his overall style of rendering. He does a great job bouncing the colors off of each other, which helps make everything fit together as nicely as it does. Enjoy!

I am in middle of a big move and haven't had the time I usually do to browse through blogs and such to find inspiration to share with you all. CHALLENGE! March, Week 3: Hunger Games

Hunger Games was my favorite book series of last year, so in honor of the movie coming out this week I have to make this the challenge of the week. If you haven't read the books I am very sorry if this topic doesn't interest you.. I hope it can though! Try google'ing 'hunger games' images and wiki the books summary to get an idea of what this series is about. A lot of really interesting characters! Some are almost Dr. Seuss-ish and others are very rugged. More so then they should be for their age.. all with different survival tactics and talents!
